Ist dass, das Amerika das es sein will? Das Menschen über 35 Jahre lang in der Todeszelle einsperrt um Sie dann in einem hohen Alter hinzurichten? Ohne diesen Menschen noch eine letzte Chance zu geben, mittels einem DNA Test die Unschuld zu beweisen? So wie auch nun im Fall - Tommy Arthur -.
Was machen denn die Anwälte? Wie arbeiten sie denn? 35 Jahre lang eine Schuld oder Unschuld nicht zu beweisen? Wie ist das denn möglich? Ist das System so unmöglich "starr", dass es Beweise überhaupt nicht zulässt?
Was ist mit dem Justiz-System falsch, dass es solche Fälle überhaupt geben kann, dass man Menschen hinrichtet, ohne sicher zu sein, dass sie wirklich schuldig sind? Was ist mit den Angehörigen der Opfer, die auch nicht sicher sind, ob die richtige Person zur Rechenschaft gezogen worden ist. Können Sie so zu ihrem inneren Frieden gelangen? Ist das die Gerechtigkeit die Amerika will?
Gov. Kay Ivey's office issued this statement minutes after Arthur's death:
"How to proceed when faced with a potential execution is one of the most difficult decisions I will ever have to make as governor. After much prayer and careful and deliberate consideration, I thought it best to allow the decision of a jury of Tommy Arthur's peers to stand. In allowing the execution to proceed this evening, the rule of law was upheld, and Mr. Wicker's family can finally rest knowing that his murderer has faced justice. AL.com
